Freedom is in the eye of the beholder

A woman was walking her dog in a park.
Suddenly, a big dog came running toward her.
Eventually, the big dog's owner retrieved his dog.
When the woman complained that the man should have his dog on a leash, the man replied, "You liberals think you own the world."

Although his dog had bitten people before, the conservative dog owner perceived the requirement of putting his dog on a leash as a violation of his freedom.
The liberal dog owner, on the other hand, thought her freedom was violated by not being able to walk her dog without fear of being attacked by the unleashed dog.

Not surprisingly, the two dog owners had opposite views about mask mandates:

The conservative thought that being forced to wear a mask in public violated his freedom;
the liberal thought that she should be free to go out in public without being infected by a mask-less person.
